Product Description

Vitrified honing stones are preferred when you want fast scale removal and relatively less wear out.
With specific application, you could choose vitrified honing stones among brown aluminum oxide, white aluminum oxide, ziconia aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, green silicon carbide abrasives with grits 80-1000.

It is mainly used for trimming and polishing dao parts, and is widely used in rough grinding, semi-rough grinding, fine grinding, super fine grinding, honing and other processing.

1. Coarse grinding and semi-coarse grinding. It is mainly used to process the workpiece quickly, the processing volume is large, and the surface finish requirements are not very high. According to the actual finish to be achieved, 16#180# particle size is generally used.
2. Fine grinding. You can choose the particle size 200#600#, if the roughness requirement is around Ra0.80.3, in order to improve the grinding efficiency, try to choose a slightly coarser processing.
3. Super-precision grinding. The roughness is within Ra0.2, the grinding amount is very small, and the precision requirements are also high. Selecting 800#1200# can achieve a more ideal effect.
4. Honing. Using 1200# fine oil stone, during the grinding process, the amount of feed control is relatively standard, the roughness needs to achieve the mirror effect, and the accuracy requirements are very high.

Exceptional Precision and Versatility

The Square Honing Stone is crafted for applications that demand meticulous precision, supporting both standard and custom sizing to suit a range of honing requirements. Its adaptability makes it ideal for industries like automotive, aerospace, and hydraulics where achieving optimal bore and cylinder smoothness is critical.

Durable Materials for Industrial Applications

Manufactured from high-grade abrasive grains such as aluminum oxide or silicon carbide and bonded either with resin or vitrified agents, the honing stone offers reliable hardness and toughness, ensuring long-lasting performance even in demanding shop floor environments.

Optimized for Efficient Surface Finishing

Achieve impressive surface finishes with Ra values as low as 0.2 m. Each square honing stone is capable of operating at temperatures up to 150C and is suitable for use with both water-based coolants and honing oils, delivering efficiency and consistency in every task.

FAQ's of Square Honing Stone:

Q: How is the Square Honing Stone used in industrial honing applications?

A: Square Honing Stones are typically installed on honing machines to refine the surface quality of bores and cylinders in automotive, aerospace, and hydraulic components. The abrasive bonded stone ensures even material removal, resulting in superior surface finishes.

Q: What surfaces can be finished using this honing stone, and what finish quality can be expected?

A: This honing stone is suitable for finishing ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces in cylinder bores, hydraulic cylinders, and machinery parts. It is capable of delivering an impressive surface roughness of Ra 0.2 m, ideal for high-precision requirements.

Q: When should I choose coarse versus fine grit sizes?

A: Coarse grit options (around 100 grit) are selected for rapid material removal and initial shaping, while fine grits (up to 800 grit) are best for the final finishing stages, ensuring a smoother and more polished surface.

Q: Where is the Square Honing Stone most effectively applied?

A: It excels in industries demanding precise surface finishing, including automotive, aerospace, hydraulic repair, and general industrial maintenance, particularly where high quality and consistency are vital.

Q: What is the recommended process for using this honing stone with coolants or oils?

A: To maximize performance and lifespan, the stone should be used with compatible honing oils or water-based coolants. Proper lubrication prevents overheating and helps flush away debris, ensuring an even and smooth finish.

Q: What are the key benefits of choosing this honing stone for maintenance tasks?

A: Benefits include high durability, customizable sizing, compatibility with oils and coolants, a wide grit range, and the ability to achieve very fine surface finishes, making it both versatile and reliable for industrial users.
